Lebanese and Vietnamese food have a lot in common - and it's not because Lebanon sits within the Asian continent! Similarities between Lebanese and Vietnamese food include: the use of minimally processed foods including fresh vegetables, lean meats, fermented foods (including yoghurts, cheeses and pickled vegetables), and herbs and spices. Most importantly (and maybe why the food tastes so good), in both cultures, eating is a social activity enjoyed with family and friends. Households are often multi-generational, and this builds a positive relationship with food from a young age. Cooking is a collaborative dynamic and fosters a shared responsibility and collective enjoyment of the cooking process.
